Five people were jailed and 200 calls were made to the West Lafayette Police Department last weekend as Purdue played against Nebraska at home, according to WLPD’s Purdue Football Weekend Statistics.
Although only five were jailed, 15 more were arrested on crimes that included theft, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated or without having a license and criminal mischief.

This continues the trend of increased crime during weekends when football games are held in Ross-Ade.
During the weekend of the first home football game against Indiana State University, 203 calls were made to West Lafayette police and seven people were jailed, including one Purdue student.
Two Purdue students, James Goodrich, 19, and Mairin McAndrews, 21, were among those arrested over the weekend.

Goodrich was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and minor consumption on the day of the game, and McAndrews was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated the night before.
